  • Featured Movie Trailer

Arriving 5/21/13 - The documentary Beware of Mr. Baker. At home with rock 'n' roll monster Ginger Baker, Cream's legendary scarlet-maned, hell-raising drummer. This no-holds-barred, sad, and hilarious portrait of the man referred to as rock's first great drummer (and perhaps still its best) lets him tell his own story, intercut with footage of his continent-hopping life, from London to L.A., Nigeria, Italy, South Africa, and (way) beyond.

JACK REACHER – Reviewed by David

A major complaint about the movie Jack Reacher by fans of author Lee Child’s thrillers is that the titular ex-soldier character is played by Tom Cruise, who’s neither 6-foot-5 nor blond-haired. Such discrepancies bother me not at all, however, because the movie is a surprisingly solid, refreshingly medium-paced affair aided immensely by Cruise’s presence. After [...]

MAMA – Reviewed by David

Guillermo del Toro may have produced Mama, which, like Pan’s Labyrinth and The Devil’s Backbone, revolves around children dealing with the supernatural, but it’s Jessica Chastain’s name that will most likely draw people to watch what is an initially scary, thematically intriguing but ultimately disappointing horror flick. As it opens, we watch as a financially-ruined [...]

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK – Reviewed by Bruce

Silver Linings Playbook is a charming and delightful comedy about two slightly damaged, chemically challenged people who circle each other in the wary yet graceful dance that two like souls are sometimes apt to. Pat Soletano (Bradley Cooper, Oscar-nominated) is being retrieved from a mental health facility by his mother (Jacki Weaver, Oscar-nominated for Animal [...]
